PostHeaderIcon Actor David Carradine, 72, found dead



Seventy two year-old David Carradine who played an austere character in a Kung Fu TV series in the 1970’s and appeared in more than 100 films including a Quentin Tarantino movie entitled “Kill Bill” died unexpectedly in his room at Swissotel Nai Lert Park Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand on Wednesday, June 3, 2009.

“Carradine, 72, was found dead Thursday in his luxury hotel room in Thailand, where he had just begun filming a movie. Police said Carradine was found hanged in the closet. It was unclear whether the death was an accident or suicide.”----AP (06/04/09 German, D)

A member of a family of distinguished movie thespians, Carradine who was reported to have problems with alcohol and narcotics openly discussed his suicidal thoughts in the past. He was survived by Annie Bierman and their three children. An autopsy was to be performed to try to determine the cause of the actor’s death. =0=

UPDATE: June 8, 2009 Initial investigation on Carradine's death opened the possibility of accidental demise as examination of the death scene revealed ropes and ligatures on the victim's genitals. Sexual activity in the hotel room which had gone awry might have caused his death.
