PostHeaderIcon Gov. Sarah Palin: more of fans’ admiration & detractors’ condescension

A year after Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s devastating defeat in the vice-presidential race, the beauteous Republican conservative who stands against abortion and “death panels” in healthcare commands stronger attention these days. She is a visible advocate for the disabled and a supporter of drilling fuel in the US territory to be energy sufficient.

But the condescension of her political enemies who make fun of the former beauty queen-governor as a dumb incoherent public figure, is ever strong. They continue to punch on her tearing the benign soul of those who watch her derided in public.

Perhaps part envy and part dread for the political impact of the views she espouses, Palin has been a continuing magnet of fascination and vilification. Even her daughters (as in case of TV host David Letterman making fun of them in a late night comedy show) aren't spared. For being openly religiously conservative, liberal feminists do not appreciate her.

Her popular book “Going Rogue: An American Life,” a instant current best seller has the Associated Press (AP) scrambling to seek for errors assigned 11 of its staff. Their review concluded the autobiography of the self-confessed hockeymom showed indications of a campaign manifesto. The news media is strict on Palin's written work. But they were not strict enough to check the accuracy of the recent books by Pres. Barack Obama, Sen. Ted Kennedy, vice-president Joe Biden, and autobiographies by Bill or Hillary Clinton.

Gov. Palin reacted to the media saying:

"Imagine that," the post read. "11 AP reporters dedicating time and resources to tearing up the book, instead of using the time and resources to 'fact check' what's going on with Sheik Mohammed's trial, Pelosi's health care takeover costs, Hasan's associations, etc. Amazing…."

They're obsessed with trying to discredit her," said Adrienne Ross, New York state organizer for the 2012 Draft Sarah Committee. "Because she's a conservative woman, they make fun of her accent, comment about her looks. She doesn't come in the package they want her to come in."---

Yes, there are more important issues roiling the country than Sarah. Political observers see how the journalists and celebrities have treated her with unusual unfairness. In a Newsweek cover this week, she is shown in a “sexist” pose smiling in red tops, shorts, and sneakers which the magazine defended as the “most interesting” picture there is for a Palin cover.

The unfazed Alaskan ex-governor seems to ride the tide well--- bringing along attention for her populist wit, her ideas, and gaining more critics and fans on the side. Without much of political campaign she is accused of, Palin is now dubbed as a "minor Evita," in reference to the commandingly (in)famous Evita Peron of Argentina who in her time blazed through politics "beyond expectation." PostHeaderIcon Gov. Sarah Palin withdraws from governorship of Alaska

Sarah Palin, the lightning rod of political intrigues since she run for vice-presidency in the last election announced that she was stepping down as Alaska governor to avoid being a “lameduck’ public official. In a press conference in her hometown in Wasilla, Alaska, Palin said she will not seek re-election. Instead, she will devote time in private life---a decision she planned way before because she wanted to work and support a variety of unspecified political causes. In July 26, 2009, she will turn over her duties to Lt.-Gov. Sean Parnell.

The upbeat and articulate governor spoke of the culture of hate and personal destruction which she experienced on the hands of her political opponents and the bias media. Soon after she ran for vice-presidency a team of political manipulators came down to Alaska to dig dirt about her---too rapacious and unfair to even drag her innocent children to the political discussions in order to discredit her. Many of the innuendoes about her family had been unworthy of serious consideration.

A total of 15 frivolous ethics accusations against Palin by her political opponents were lodged at the expense of taxpayers’ money which all turned out to be in her favor. According to her, to defend herself on those baseless accusations, she had to uselessly spend half a million dollars which could have paid for meaningful espenses.

Money expended to discredit Palin could have helped pay for salaries of government workers. The nonsensical and wasteful effort which defamed individuals like her exposed a new breed of Americans who harbor self-deluding "moral rectitude" that frustrate the public.

With Palin's popularity and potential to be a presidential candidate in the next election, the good-looking former beauty queen which makes the Democratic Party uneasy do not lack criticisms from her harsh detractors. In spite of being a strong woman and conservative mother, she had been unjustly reviled as an "empty shell" in spite of her remarkable public record as governor of Alaska which didn't pale with the track record of Pres. Barack Obama.

A Republican bet against the questionable Obama administration, many speculate her decision to withdraw from governorship is a step towards her plan to run in the next presidential election. (Photo Credit: Infacinatorin) =0=

PostHeaderIcon David Letterman vs. Gov. Sarah Palin: Jokes in bad taste and an "epidemic" of (in)sincere apologies?

When Pres. Gloria M. Arroyo was caught in an foul phone call in the “Hello Garci” case, she had no choice but to apologize to the Filipino people. When the seemingly straight arrow US Senator Tom Daschle was found to have evaded taxes during a background check, he apologized to the Americans.

Many followed through with their own mea culpas for certain wrong-doings. Bernard Madoff did so for defrauding his trusting clients of $65 billion in his Ponzi scheme. Dr. Hayden Kho was “remorseful” for spreading his scandalous sex videos which humiliated his girl friends and insulted the medical profession.

Now it’s late-night comedian David Letterman’s turn to apologize for making fun of Gov. Sarah Palin and her family. Letterman, the 62 year-old ageing laughbag who should know better, made some sexual jokes on Willow, one of Palin’s underaged chidren of having to fend off Eliot Spitzer (a sexual problem) and getting raped by Yankees sportsman Alex Rodriguez during a New York visit.

The joke relates to the hateful and long-standing rough handling of Palin who espouses conservative beliefs on pre-marital sex---obviously her freedom to do so being in America.

After offending people, which of these public apologies are real? Where is the sincerity? In spite of the outrage from tolerant people, why is the mainstream media, TV, and cause-oriented groups silent of the mockery of the Palins?

The conservative family from Alaska was offended and issued a statement which was quickly answered with a lot of back-hand humor by Letterman to the delight of his fans. Had Gov. Sarah Palin never run for vice-president during the last election, her family could have been left alone. For her conservative views, the governor of Alaska had been a target of unfair "minding" by secular individuals who don't agree with her opinion.

It looks like USA is degenerating into a warped society whose beneficient culture is going down the drain. At the expense fairness and in the guise of humor, some people like Letterman have become insensitive. Mockery seems in vogue for certain people, but off-limits to others like Pres. Barack Obama's children.

Political correctness takes a double standard. For those who watched Letterman “apologize” in camera, many are struck by the (in)sincerity and appalled by the hideousness of his jokes. (Photo Credit: gettyimages/ Fame/ Extracomposite; http: extratv.warnerbros.) =0=

UPDATE: June 16, 2009--- Amidst vociferous protests and criticisms versus David Letterman, the late night comedian apologized to Gov. Sarah Palin and her family. Letterman said for a joke that was wrong. Gov. Palin who protested that such joke was degrading to women----encouraged disrespect and exploitation of to certain group of people, accepted the apology.

PostHeaderIcon Genealogists trace Gov. Sarah Palin's family tree & Brigitte Bardot whips her

Genealogists whose political affiliations are not known have looked into Gov. Sarah Palin’s pedigree, part of the microscopic scrutiny of the VP Republican presidential candidate, a controversial firebrand that brought vim and bemusement to the presidential race.

She has ignited seething anger from her political opponents for raising character issues that cast doubt on Sen. Barack Obama's shady dealings which include avowed terrorist-bomber William Ayers, US-hater Jeremiah Wright, Jim Johnson (believed to be among those who put Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac into bankruptcy) and ACORN, the infamous grassroots organization which is now being investigated for intimidation and massive electoral fraud which tainted the voters registry in many states. Her questions are certainly valid in the wake of spectacular promises of glib-talking politicians that often fall short of action.

Those who expect dirt or fame in her bloodline aren’t disappointed. She is supposed to be a 10th cousin of Princess Diana and a 9th cousin of WWII president Franklin D. Roosevelt (D) who saw America through the Great Depression. Rev. John Lothrop is their common ancestor who lived in Massachusetts in 1634. She is also reported to be a relative of vice president Dick Cheney (R,) her 8th degree relative.

Perhaps, the Republicans and Palin supporters are relieved because no Charles Manson, David Koresh or Timothy McVeigh came up in her family tree. Otherwise notoriety can be exploited by her enemies like those who look at her as an incoherent fraud with “porno star” looks, a “no nothing” conservative who subsists on mooseburger in Alaska.

Brigitte Bardot, the faded French movie star and fashion model who popularized sensuality and the baring of breasts in tinseltown decades ago couldn't resist herself. The aging angry political and animal activist vehemently castigated Palin for being "a disgrace to women," because she did not espouse her views, among others the support for abortion and anti-oil-drilling that Bardot likes.

This comes on the heels of the indictment of David Kernell, 20, a shortsighted college student-son of a Tennessee democratic state representative who illegally hacked her emails, stole and distributed them for the world to read.

A loose-mouthed partisan Canadian journalist in Ontario Heather Mallick was reprimanded by her company for unfairly labelling Palin as a "white trash." Madonna, the outlandish singer with liberal ideas, swanky secular lifestyle, and anti-Christian sentiments railed on conservative Palin in a recent concert in New Jersey just as most of Hollywood and liberal media had ganged up on her.

In the October 13, 2008 issue of Newsweek, a controversy had been sparked because of the derisive article "The Palin Problem" and the ugly cover picture which accompanied it. One can't help but think if these people who are quick to pass judgement are responsible enough to do it for other people. This has been a growing problem in our world where people hate others for the flimsiest reasons. (Photo Credits: rhilston4u; babet1969; incendiarymin; merch_bot.com; wltx.com; heliocd.com)=0=
