PostHeaderIcon Schwarzennegger thinks Polanski deserves regular treatment of a criminal

Despite the accolades famed film director Roman Polanski gets from his colleagues and his admirers, his wrong-doing of raping a 13 year-old in Beverly, California in 1977 must be treated just like any other crime. It appears liberals and short-sighted individuals can't separate the director and his art from the crime he committed. They think the 76 year-old rapist must be given special concessions.

Rape of a minor is a hideous crime and must be meted with apt punishment even if the perpetrator is a famous Academy awardee. Unlike the wayward opinion of liberals and secular progressives, this is the take of California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenneger over Polanski, who escaped sentencing for rape three decades ago. He was apprehended in Zurich Switzerland while attending a film festival:

"It doesn't matter if you are a big-time movie actor or a big-time movie director or producer. I think that he is a very respected person, and I am a big admirer of his work. But nevertheless, I think he should be treated like everyone else. And one should look into all of the allegations, not only his allegations but the allegations about his case. Was there something done wrong? You know, was injustice done in the case? "---Gov. Arnold Schwarzenneger. Reuters (10/02/09, Sergeant, J.)=0=
