Typhoon deaths reach 669

Typhoons Ondoy and Peping which hit Luzon last week brought deaths to at least 669 people and caused injury to 462 people. So far 87 individuals were still reported missing.

The National Disaster Coordinating Council ( NDCC) placed the damage to infrastructure brought by Pepeng reached to about P5.083 billion – P3.99 billion in agriculture and more than P1 billion in infrastructure. For Ondoy, damage to infrastructure and agriculture was placed at P10.45 billion.---Manila Bulletin (10/12/09, Aben, E. L.)
